MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITIES

LGBTQIA+: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual

Mental health challenges faced by members of the LGBTQIA+ communities are as unique and varied as the colors of the rainbow, so it only makes sense to address those issues in a unique and personalized approach that takes into account your experiences within the community.

Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are impacted by a number of different issues that are particular experience:

  • Issues related to exploring and defining your sexual identity.

  • Issues related to coming out.

  • Navigating the development of platonic and romantic relationships.

  • Acceptance, or lack thereof, from people around you.

  • Exploring and defining masculinity and femininity.

  • And many more.

Traditional therapy approaches often consider development and relationships through a heteronormative lens, leaving anyone who does not fit into that box with services that don’t quite fit their experience. Here at 253 Therapy, we strive to engage you in a therapy experience that honors and accepts your identity, no matter where on the spectrum it lies. It is our goal to create a space that is safe for you to be your authentic self, without fear of judgment.
