MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITIES
LGBTQIA+: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual
Mental health challenges faced by members of the LGBTQIA+ communities are as unique and varied as the colors of the rainbow, so it only makes sense to address those issues in a unique and personalized approach that takes into account your experiences within the community.
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are impacted by a number of different issues that are particular experience:
Issues related to exploring and defining your sexual identity.
Issues related to coming out.
Navigating the development of platonic and romantic relationships.
Acceptance, or lack thereof, from people around you.
Exploring and defining masculinity and femininity.
And many more.
Traditional therapy approaches often consider development and relationships through a heteronormative lens, leaving anyone who does not fit into that box with services that don’t quite fit their experience. Here at 253 Therapy, we strive to engage you in a therapy experience that honors and accepts your identity, no matter where on the spectrum it lies. It is our goal to create a space that is safe for you to be your authentic self, without fear of judgment.
