As a therapist, Matthew balances interventions from CBT, DBT, and existential theory. He sees therapy as a balance between validation and directness and strives to bring both into his work. He enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan and want to help you build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Matthew is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (WA #MC61669288) with a wide range of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in a number of different mental health support settings.
Outside of work, Matthew enjoys backpacking and rock climbing in the Cascades, backcountry skiing, mountaineering, spending time with his two perfectly imperfect pups, and reading the newest Brandon Sanderson novel. Leisure plays an important role in his life, and Matthew believe reconnecting with what brings us joy, purpose, or adventure can be an important part of mental health.

What can clients expect when working with me?
"As a counselor, I believe you are the expert in your own life. I take an existential approach to help you find meaning in your lived experiences and use that understanding to move forward."
